UC00C (CH340) USB to UART Converter
UC00C is a low cost alternative to the FTDI USB to UART converter. It supports both 3.3V and 5V systems. Used for programming, development, and/or debugging between your computer and microcontroller. You will always see at least one or two of these on our engineers' desk because they are among the most important yet convenient tools for our day to day development.
Some of the more costly boards will have a USB to UART converter built-in in order to facilitate programming the board. However, many do not (Arduino Pro Mini, Arduino Fio, BBFunino, most custom boards, breadboard Arduino compatible boards, etc.). If you do not have a built-in converter you need one of these units to program and/or debug your board.
UC00C will auto install on most operating systems without the need for additional drivers. UC00C is tested to work well on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10. If you need a driver, click on the documentation tab for a link.
3.3V or 5V Voltage Level Selection Switch
UC00C is equiped with a slide switch for instant voltage selection between 3.3V and 5V. Sliding this switch to either side will set UC00C to output the selected voltage on Vcc and signal lines. Using a USB to UART converter to troubleshoot two different logic level systems (eg: Arduino Uno and Raspberry Pi) has never been easier!
